23 Oct Amy Sanghvi, MD, FPD-AEMUS: A 2025 Unsung Hero

It is my pleasure to nominate Dr. Amy Sanghvi for the NY ACEP Unsung Hero Award. In my mind, Dr. Sanghvi embodies the “unsung hero”. Dr. Sanghvi is like a “quiet ninja”. She works hard every day from the beginning of her shift to the end. She sees patients and teaches residents and students, all while maintaining her cool.
One of Dr. Sanghvi’s trademark qualities is her empathy. Her patients truly feel how much she cares about them, and she models this attribute to all the other staff.
Dr. Sanghvi is described as a true “team player”. She always helps out her colleagues, especially with managing sick patients. Everyone finds her very easy to work with. You know it is going to be a good shift when Dr. Sanghvi is working alongside you.
Dr. Sanghvi is exceptionally skilled at providing feedback. This is true not only with her learners, but with her colleagues as well. She has a unique way of letting you know how you can do better without making you feel like you messed up.
Perhaps Dr. Sanghvi’s greatest attribute is that she will do anything for her patients. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure her patients receive the best care possible. There is no mountain she won’t climb and no hurdle she won’t jump over if it means her patient will be better off because of it.
In summary, I believe Dr. Sanghvi embodies the “unsung hero”. She never looks for accolades. She simply gets the job done. I am excited to nominate Dr. Amy Sanghvi for the NY ACEP Unsung Hero Award.
