19 Nov New York ACEP Announces Inaugural Leadership Fellowship
New York ACEP is excited to announce the inaugural Leadership and Development Fellowship starting winter 2025. The fellowship is designed for early career physicians passionate about learning and improving emergency care in New York State.
Individuals who are 2-5 years post residency training with interest in advocacy, program development and leadership are encouraged to apply. This program will provide the necessary knowledge, experience and skills to connect and advocate for the best care of emergency patients and improve the specialty of Emergency Medicine.
Application:
- Applications Close December 20, at 12:00 noon
- Steering Committee and Board of Directors Decision: January 2025
- Applicants will be informed of acceptance or declination by January 27, 2025
Fellowship Selection Criteria:
- Applicants should have interest in leadership in Emergency Medicine and consideration of leadership in NYACEP/ ACEP going forward.
- Applicants should be able to show leadership potential and interest in advocacy/ government affairs, education, EMS, practice management, professional development, and/ or research.
- The applicants desire and ability to participate in required mentoring sessions, conference, board meetings, and committee meetings should be clear and be evidenced by their application, CV, and reference letters.
- The applicant should have the commitment of their department leadership to allow for participation in the monthly board of director meetings, committee meetings, mentoring sessions, and conferences that are part of the fellowship program.
- Applications will be reviewed and candidates selected by the NY ACEP Board of Directors.
Details:
Fellows will be expected to engage with New York ACEP’s board of directors, executive committee, member committees, represent New York ACEP members at state and national advocacy days and attend programming at the state and national level. This program is designed to support the development of future leaders of the Board of Director.
