Bret Nelson, MD, FACEP, is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is the Vice Chair for Education and Chief of the Ultrasound Division across the six-hospital system. He trained in Emergency Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, and has practiced Emergency Medicine for twenty years. He has been invited all over the world to speak on ultrasound, faculty development, airway management, and education. He has served on medical advisory boards and consulted for many healthcare and technology companies. He has served on the board of directors and chaired sections of several national and international medical organizations.

He is a Master Educator level member of Mount Sinai’s Institute for Medical Education. He earned Excellence in Teaching awards from Mount Sinai as well as Harvard Medical School. He received ACEP’s National Faculty Teaching Award and the SAEM Ultrasound Faculty Education Award. He authored the leading Emergency Medicine Oral Board review text as well as several medical books.
