23 Oct Jonathan Gong, MD: A 2025 Unsung Hero

Dr. Jonathan Gong is both a caring physician and dedicated educator. He spends his clinical time between the Emergency Department and the Intensive Care Unit. While he provides excellent care to the most critical, he also does so by teaching residents and fellows. He is currently the Program Director for a Critical Care Fellowship that started this year and engages in a number of research initiatives to further improve the care provided. He is considerate, caring, and dedicated to the care of our patients and colleague to admire.
Dr. Gong is not only trained in Critical Care and Emergency Medicine but splits his time in both fields. He is the fellowship director for critical care that started this year and engages in a number of research projects.
Recipient Bio:
Dr. Jon Gong completed his residency at LIJMC in Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine/Critical Care. After completion, he has stayed on at LIJ working in the Emergency Department while also spending time in the Intensive Care at LIJ-Valley Stream. This year he became the Program Director for a new Critical Care Fellowship.
