Mansi Nayak, MD: A 2025 Unsung Hero

Dr. Mansi Nayak is a compassionate hard working physician whose clinical excellence and quiet dedication embody the spirit of an unsung hero in Emergency Medicine. As an attending physician at Mount Sinai Morningside and West, she consistently delivers exceptional, patient-centered care marked by empathy, diligence, and calm under pressure.
In addition to her outstanding bedside care, Dr. Nayak contributes meaningfully to resident education, leading engaging sessions on core emergency medicine topics and modeling professionalism and teamwork. She serves on the patient experience and service excellence committee, helping to elevate communication and patient satisfaction across the department.

What distinguishes Dr. Nayak is her quiet leadership, steady presence, and compassion. In a busy urban ED, she consistently provides meticulous, patient-centered care and models professionalism for trainees. Beyond her clinical work, she contributes to the Mount Sinai Human Rights Program, assisting with forensic evaluations for asylum seekers with empathy and dedication.

Recipient Bio:
Dr. Mansi Nayak is an attending physician in the Emergency Department at Mount Sinai Morningside and West, where she teaches residents, delivers lectures on core EM topics, and serves on the patient experience and service excellence committee. Previously, she was an attending at Montefiore’s Moses Campus, where she led PPE and Ebola preparedness training and served as a TeamSTEPPS leader. She completed her EM residency at St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital Center and holds a Diploma in Tropical Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
