Michael Sperandeo, MD: A 2025 Unsung Hero

Dr. Michael Sperandeo is a dedicated physician, an energetic educator, and a colleague the team enjoys working with. Dr. Sperandeo is compassionate and looks to provide the best care for his patients. He also focuses on providing training for colleagues through Simulation where he will help run scenarios designed to test the system or incorporate a learning objective to providing better care and communication. He has been active in education and spending time when not clinical to be present for EMS outreach and lectures. He warm demeanor and openness make him one of the most beloved attendings to work with.

Dr. Sperandeo goes beyond his job requirements to spend spare time assisting with EMS outreach and education.
He shares his skills and warm nature with improving the education of both the staff and the community.
He is always willing to help others and is part of what makes him both stand out and be a colleague everyone wants on his team.

Recipient Bio:
Dr. Michael Sperandeo completed a residency at Northwell in Emergency Medicine and then went on to do a Fellowship in Simulation. He currently works as an attending as well as assists with the Simulation Fellowship and Faculty Education at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
