Michael Taylor, MD: A 2025 Unsung Hero

Dr. Michael Taylor has been a consistent contributor to the Emergency Medicine Team at Rochester Regional Health since joining us in 2021.  Shortly after starting at Rochester General Hospital Dr. Taylor began spending time in the Eastern Region of RRH at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.  Mike has been supporting our Eastern Region hospitals as our Emergency Medical Services Medical Director for the past three years and has done a fantastic job engaging with EMS in the region.  He has been collaborative working with regional agencies, helping with EMS education, discussing practice standards/challenges, and helping to facilitate EMS transfers for both the ED and inpatient teams.  Dr. Taylor has also been the associate ED Medical Director in the Eastern Region for over a year, with his efforts focused at Newark Wayne.

Dr. Taylor has consistently excelled in delivering quality care to our patients since he joined the system. In both of administrative roles we have seen the same superior level of engagement and success advancing practice and improving efficiency in our department and hospital.  Whether educating team members, engaging with administration, or taking his time to inform and educate families, he has truly engaged with all levels of care in our region to our benefit.
