Bryan Gargano, MD FACEP: A 2024 Unsung Hero

Dr. Bryan Gargano has been a long standing contributing physician to the Rochester Regional Health Emergency Medicine team for nearly two decades. His breadth of work experience has given him a very well-rounded knowledge base from which he operates. He is incredibly supportive of his provider and nursing colleagues, and an exceptional resource for students who have the privilege of spending time with him on shift.

Dr. Gargano continually delivers exceptional clinical care, always remaining thoughtful of his patients and the clinical team alike. His willingness to help with open shifts, provide advice to a fellow colleagues, and the consistent ability to manage a department well are invaluable qualities. Dr. Gargano’s continued performance in our departments qualifies him an Unsung Hero without question.

Recipient Bio:
A Rochester native, Dr. Gargano has been a consistently contributing member of the emergency medicine team at Rochester Regional Health over the past eighteen years. He completed medical school in Buffalo where he fell in love with emergency medicine and then completed residency at the University of Rochester. He has worked at four emergency departments in the region that are now part of RRH. During his time in the system, his dedication to improving patient care drove him through the ranks of administration. His roles have ranged from Medical Director to Associate Chair of EM, to a system Associate CMO role in capacity management, and ultimately as the Associate CMO of Rochester General Hospital. More recently, Dr. Gargano has returned to a full-time clinical position as an RRH system emergency medicine physician and we have been privileged to have him spending more time at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.
