New York ACEP’s annual Advocacy Day is your opportunity to talk with legislators and advocate for your specialty and your patients.
After a briefing on current issues to prepare you for the face-to-face meetings, we will head to the Capitol to meet with legislators and staff to discuss pressing issues facing emergency medicine and our patients.

You do not have to be an expert on the legislative process, your experiences reflect the impact policy has on patient care.
It’s as easy as telling a story from your last shift. These visits serve many purposes including educating legislators on emergency medicine issues, seeking support for specific bills or legislative initiatives and showing appreciation for past support.
Each attendee will be part of a New York ACEP leadership team comprised of colleagues based on geographic location. During the briefing you will receive a hard copy of the schedule and position statements on specific issues and bills.
We hope you will plan to attend and encourage colleagues and residents to join you.
Appointments with your legislative representatives will be made by New York ACEP staff once you register. To allow adequate time to secure these appointments, your registration is requested by February 27.
With your involvement in Advocacy Day, New York ACEP can continue its work for a better political environment for our specialty and our patients.
