New York ACEP Members Advocate for Emergency Medicine

 

New York ACEP members met in Albany on Tuesday, March 11 for our annual Advocacy Day. Members from across New York State met with Legislatures on key issues including;

  • Hospital Violence Prevention
  • MCO Tax Utilization to increase Fee for Service Rates for Medicaid Patients, including a significant Allocation for Emergency Medicine Physicians
  • Opposing changes to the Physician Excess Medical Malpractice Program
  • Protecting the Physician led team, and opposing expanding scope of practice for PA’s
  • Protecting the physicians right to appeal claims to the Independent Resolution Process
  • Opposing the wrongful death legislation, which has been proposed and vetoed by the Governor 3 years in a row
