01 Nov Elizabeth Hendricks, MD: A 2024 Unsung Hero
Dr. Hendricks is exactly the physician you hope you are working with! Working primarily night shifts, she holds the department together with an admirable approach of “quiet confidence”. You’ll never find her raising her voice to oversee a resuscitation because she naturally leads the team throughout her shifts. She frequently spends extra time with patients and their families explaining treatment approaches and diagnoses. She is certainly a favorite amongst our patients. While doing all of this, she is committed to ED throughput and efficiency ensuring patients are seen and dispositioned very quickly!
Dr. Hendricks is not your typical night physician. She really pulls the department together while maintaining a calmness in the nurses station. She is quick to deescalate situations where her peers may often struggle. She is able to apply this skill to patient care as well.
