Dr. Eric Levy is a remarkable Emergency Medicine Physician who excels in caring for patients of all ages and with a wide range of complaints. He consistently stands out as one of the most productive physicians in our group, balancing efficiency with high-quality care. Dr. Levy’s dedication to his patients and his calm, patient demeanor have earned him the admiration of both staff and patients alike. As the Director of Simulation for our Emergency Department, he has transformed the program, introducing creativity and innovation that have elevated our training efforts. His commitment to education has played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of exceptional Emergency Department physicians and Physician Assistants. Dr. Levy’s contributions to both patient care and medical education truly embody the spirit of the Unsung Hero award.
Dr. Eric Levy’s contributions stand out because of his quiet yet impactful leadership. Recipient Bio:
Dr. Levy, is a dedicated and accomplished Emergency Medicine physician currently serving as an Attending at Northwell Staten Island University Hospital, where he has been since 2018. A leader in medical education, he holds the role of Director of Simulation for the Emergency Department, overseeing the development and implementation of innovative simulation curricula for residents, physician assistants, and students. Dr. Levy also serves as an Assistant Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where he actively participates in resident education, oral board preparation, and mentorship.
Dr. Levy earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, following his undergraduate studies at Binghamton University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with dual degrees in Integrative Neuroscience and English Literature. He completed his residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he was Chief Resident and led various academic and quality improvement initiatives.
Beyond his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Levy is an active participant in research and emergency medicine education, contributing to publications and presenting at national conferences. His leadership extends to organizing clinical competitions, developing simulation cases, and advocating for high-quality emergency medicine education.
