We are fortunate to have many fantastic physicians at Rochester General Hospital. Among this group, Dr. Connie Vernetti exemplifies what it means to be an Unsung Hero. Dr. Vernetti is a relentless advocate for her patients, while also providing unwavering support for her team members in the Emergency Department. She is skilled at forming close connections with each caregiver throughout the continuum of care, from pre-hospital providers all the way through consultants and admitting physicians. Dr. Vernetti fosters an environment of trust, respect and effective communication.
In addition to providing exceptional care to patients in the Emergency Department, Dr. Vernetti advances the field of Emergency Medicine through her educational and advocacy efforts with EMS Systems, and facilitating initiatives like our regional ED initiated ECMO programs.
Recipient Bio:
Dr. Vernetti grew up near Rochester, NY. She completed her undergraduate degree at State University of New York at Geneseo. She attended medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Returning back towards home, her emergency medicine residency was at the University of Rochester, where she served as a Chief Resident. Dr. Vernetti joined Rochester Regional Health in 2016 and has been a valued member of the team every since. She lives in the Rochester area.
